Promoting Beaver Wetland Restoration
The Beaver Institute developed and implements many effective programs to restore beavers and their valuable wetlands across North America. Learn more about our innovative and successful initiatives below.

Connecticut Beaver Initiative
Since 2020, the Connecticut Beaver Initiative has assisted towns and other CT landowners to resolve beaver – human conflicts. We offer grant assistance to nonlethally resolve problems with beavers, and also offer training to licensed CT Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators to implement effective, nonlethal beaver management practices.

BeaverCorps Training Program
The Beaver Institute is proud to offer the first and only professional, non-lethal beaver management training program. Our BeaverCorps students become experts in beaver wetland management and certified as Beaver Wetland Professionals. Graduates are located across North America, but more are needed.

BeaverCON 2022 Conference
BeaverCON is a biennial, international conference designed to raise awareness and share the latest beaver research. Join beaver professionals, researchers, government agencies, environmental groups, nonprofits, citizens and others interested in learning about the many ways this Keystone species benefits the environment and successful ways to work with them. We hope to see you in Baltimore or virtually in March 2022!

Climate Change Beaver Coalition
It would be a hollow victory if we eventually reverse climate change, but only after suffering more species extinctions, deadly wildfires, droughts, famines, flooding, hurricanes, etc. Restoring beaver wetlands improves these climate change issues naturally and cost-effectively.
Centuries ago we nearly trapped beavers to extinction. Learn how we can fix that mistake and fight climate change at the same time.
