2021 Year-End Update and Matching Fundraiser
Hello Beaver Believer!
As we approach the busiest time of the year, the Beaver Institute wants to stop and say THANK YOU to all of you that have supported our mission of advancing beaver management. We’ve done a lot in 2021!
Thanks to the support of our donors and passionate volunteers, we continue to provide assistance to landowners experiencing beaver conflicts, train Beaver Wetland Professionals in nonlethal management techniques, and increase public awareness of the valuable ecosystem services that beavers provide.
To support – and grow – our successful programs, we’re launching our Annual Year-End Fundraiser. We’ve set a goal of raising $10,000! And, thanks to two generous donors, every donation received between now and the end of the year will be matched dollar for dollar.
Will you take advantage of this time-limited matching opportunity to double your impact?
Supporters like you have already made possible some pretty incredible things…
We are thrilled that most of our 35 passionate BeaverCorps Training Program enrollees are now installing flow devices and BDA’s across 20 states & Canadian provinces. By 2023, we hope to train 100 beaver wetland professionals so nonlethal beaver management becomes commonplace.
Our Connecticut Beaver Initiative Grant Program is getting more CT landowners to use flow devices and stop killing beavers! Thanks to support from the Animal Welfare Institute, this summer we expanded these grants to the clients of all our BeaverCorps members. In 2022, we are seeking funding fully establish a National Landowner Grant Program modeled on our very successful Connecticut Beaver Initiative (CBI). These grants work extremely well to financially incentivize nonlethal beaver management.
In 2021, our new website provided 3,000 – 5,000 visitors a month with a wealth of information, including our ever-expanding library of beaver research, articles, and information. On average we also provide valuable Self-Help Info to 10 new people every day, so they can resolve beaver conflicts nonlethally.
We are currently gearing up with our co-host, Ecotone, Inc. for our second biennial conference, BeaverCON 2022. It is returning to Hunt Valley, Maryland from March 8 – 10, 2022. Our conference focus is the important connection between beavers and climate change. The research is clear that beaver-created wetland ecosystems help mitigate the increasingly detrimental effects of climate change, such as wildfires, droughts, species loss, and storm flooding. We will soon be releasing our exciting lineup of speakers, so stay tuned at www.beavercon.org!
With your help, we can continue to expand our work on behalf of beavers and us all!
DON’T FORGET… Between now and December 31st, your donation will be matched dollar for dollar! Take advantage of this opportunity to DOUBLE your impact 🙂
